Abstract

A new species, Chorthippus (Altichorthippus) taishanensis sp. nov. from Shandong Province of China, is described in this paper. The new species is similar to Chorthippus (Altichorthippus) intermedius (Bey-Bienko, 1925) but it differs from the latter by: lateral carinae of pronotum obtuse angled in prozona and undeveloped in metazona, inner side of hind femur without dark sloping stripe and base of hind tibia not black. The type specimens are deposited in the College of Life Science, Hebei University, Baoding China.
