Abstract

The ancyrocephaline monogene Guavinella tropica n. gen., n. sp. is described from the gills of the bigmouth sleeper, Gobiomorus dormitor (Perciformes: Eleotridae), from Veracruz, Mexico. This is the first dactylogyrid reported from a Neotropical eleotrid fish.
