Abstract

Androlaelaps abrothrix n. sp., a new laelapine mite (Acari: Parasitiformes: Laelapidae), is described from the pelage of the abrotrichine rodent, Abrothrix longipilis (Waterhouse) (Cricetidae, Sigmodontinae, Abrotrichini), collected from the Andean Patagonia region of Argentina. The description is based on the female, male, deutonymph, and protonymph.
