Abstract

Epibiosis is the assemblage of epibionts on a given host individual (basibiont). Several studies have shown that epibionts can cause deleterious effects to their hosts. Here, we report the first record of epibiont ciliates (Ciliophora: Peritrichia) living on larvae of Pyralidae (Lepidoptera) from the Neotropical region.
