Abstract

Lichens and lichenicolous fungi were collected on the 40-acre Burden Research Plantation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana over a period of 27 years. A total of 304 lichen species (including eight lichenicoles) have been found on the property, and an additional 72 species have been found at nearby locations in Baton Rouge, for a total of 376 in Baton Rouge. In accord with the humid, subtropical climate, 27 foliicolous species are included. The list includes 72 new state records (51 from Burden Plantation, and 21 from other parts of Baton Rouge).
