^**Notes on contributorsALESSANDRA SANTOS has been a palynologist at the Micropaleontology Technological Institute (itt Fossil), University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS), Brazil, since 2006. She received an MSc in geosciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil, in 2006. Alessandra obtained her PhD in geology from the same institution with sandwich mode from the Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada (CICESE), Mexico, in 2014. Her research interests are focused on Cretaceous taxonomy, biostratigraphy and paleoecology using palynological proxies.
^***JAVIER HELENES is a senior researcher in the Geology Department of CICESE, a federally funded research center in Baja California, México, where he has been working since 1995. He obtained a geological engineering degree in 1976 from the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City, and did graduate work from 1978 to 1984 at the School of Earth Sciences in Stanford University, California, USA. His research interests include taxonomy, paleoecology and biostratigraphy based on dinoflagellate cysts from Cretaceous to Recent.
^****MARCELO DE ARAUJO CARVALHO is a professor of palynology and paleoclimate and is currently head of the Department of Geology and Paleontology at the National Museum/Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil. Marcelo obtained his PhD degree at the Ruprecht-Karls Universität Heidelberg, Germany in 2001. In the same year, Marcelo started his research career at the Department of Geology UFRJ. In 2012 he became a professor at the Department of Geology and Paleontology at Nacional Museum/Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). His main research interests are palynology, palynofacies and paleoclimate of the Cretaceous.
