Abstract

The fungus gnat genus Hadroneura Lundström was previously known from seven species. Five occur in the far western United States and Canada including Alaska, British Columbia, and coastal California. This is the first Hadroneura species recorded in the U.S. east of the Rocky Mountains. One adult male Hadroneura huron Taber n. sp. was collected in a Malaise trap in white pine (Pinus stroba L.) forest on the northern lower peninsula of Michigan. Females and juvenile stages are unknown.
