Abstract

The purpose of this application, under Article 81.1 of the Code, is to avert ongoing nomenclatural confusion by suppression of the ambiguous and untypified binomen Columba norfolciensis Latham, 1801, which has been applied to three different species in different columbid genera within the last hundred years.
