Abstract

A new genus of Phengodidae (Coleoptera: Mastinocerini) from Ecuador, Paraphrixothrix ecuadoranus sp. nov., is described and illustrated. The species is compared with members of the closely related genera Phrixothrix Olivier and Mastinowittmerus Zaragoza. A key to the genera of Mastinocerinae is included.
