A new combination is proposed for Phlegmariurus (Herter) Holub (Lycopodiaceae): P. obovalifolius (Bonap.) V.T. Tran & N.V. Duy, comb. nov., and a new species of Phlegmariurus, P. lancifolius V.T. Tran & N.V. Duy, sp. nov., from southern Vietnam, is described and illustrated. It is distinguished from the closely related P. obovalifolius (Bonap.) V.T. Tran & N.V. Duy, comb. nov., by its leaves lanceolate, apex acuminate-acute, 1.1-1.5 × 0.4-0.6 cm, sporophyll cuneiform or broadly ovate, c. 2 × 2 mm, apex apiculate with acuminate tip, c. 2 mm, sporangia reniform.

Le genre Hypodematium Kunze à Madagascar est représenté par deux espèces, H. crenatum (Forssk.) Kuhn largement répandue dans l'Ancien Monde et H. delicatulum Rakotondr. & A.R. Sm., sp. nov., endémique de Madagascar qui se différencie de toutes les autres espèces du genre par ses sores subapicaux à intramarginaux (vs médians à inframédians). Ces deux espèces sont décrites et illustrées. Une clé d'identification et une carte de répartition à Madagascar sont proposées.

Three endemic new species of Cryptocarya R.Br. are described from New Caledonia. Cryptocarya adpressa Munzinger & McPherson, sp. nov., is a small-leaved, pinnately veined species resembling species such as C. leptospermoides Kosterm. and C. gracilis Schltr., but differing most notably in its persistent and strongly appressed indument of the inflorescence. Cryptocarya barrabeae Munzinger & McPherson, sp. nov., resembles C. pluricostata but can be distinguished most easily by its elliptical leaf shape and longer, straighter indument. Cryptocarya chrysea Munzinger & McPherson, sp. nov., resembles C. guillauminii Kosterm. in its ovate, densely and persistently pubescent leaves with ascendant lateral veins, but differs most notably in its prominently lenticellate stems and abaxially golden leaves. All three new species are trees occurring in dense humid forest. Two are restricted to non-ultramafic substrate while C. chrysea, sp. nov., occurs on both substrates. They are all known from at least three protected areas, and do not appear to be threatened; thus they are all assigned a preliminarily Least Concern IUCN status.

La diversité du genre Corybas Salisb. en Nouvelle-Calédonie est abordée. Le concept de Corybas neocaledonicus (Schltr.) Schltr. est révisé et délimité, Corybas aconitiflorus Salisb. est signalé pour la première fois en Nouvelle-Calédonie et trois nouveaux taxons sont décrits: C. echinulus E.Faria, sp. nov., offrant de petites fleurs, inférieures au centimètre et au sépale dorsal coloré en damier, C. pignalii E.Faria, sp. nov., la plus grande espèce, dotée d'un labelle aux larges lobes latéraux densément hispidulés et de deux gibbosités glabres à son plancher et C. × halleanus E.Faria, hybr. nat. nov., l'hybride naturel entre ces deux nouvelles espèces. Une clé de détermination pour le genre en Nouvelle-Calédonie ainsi que quelques recommandations pour la conservation de chaque taxon sont proposées.

This taxonomic survey of Dendrobium section Formosae in the flora of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam includes 19 species (Dendrobium bellatulum Rolfe, D. cariniferum Rchb.f., D. chapaense Aver., D. christyanum Rchb.f., D. daklakense Tich, Schuit. & J.J. Verm., D. draconis Rchb.f., D. infundibulum Lindl., D. kontumense Gagnep., D. longicornu Lindl., D. multilineatum, D. ochraceum De Wild., D. roseiodorum Sathap., T.Yukawa & Seelanan, D. scabrilingue Lindl., D. senile E.C.Parish & Rchb.f., D. suzukii T.Yukawa, D. trankimianum T.Yukawa, D. trigonopus Rchb.f., D. wattii (Hook.f.) Rchb.f., D. williamsonii Day & Rchb.f.) hitherto recorded from these countries. It includes a key for species identification and updated information on species nomenclature, morphology, phenology, ecology, distribution and tentative conservation status.

Avant son décès, Jean Bosser (23 décembre 1922-6 décembre 2013) travaillait à la publication de deux espèces d'Angraecopsis Kraenzl. Le manuscrit n'ayant pas été publié, nous avons entrepris de poursuivre ce travail en nous basant également sur du matériel supplémentaire que nous avons récolté dans l'est de Madagascar. L'étude de ces échantillons nous a permis de déterminer que ces espèces appartiennent au genre Pectinariella Szlach., Mytnik & Grochocka et que l'une des deux espèces n'est en fait pas nouvelle, mais correspond à Pectinariella pterophylla (H. Perrier) Verlynde & Ramandimbisoa, comb. nov., dont nous reprécisons les limites morphologiques. Nous publions la deuxième espèce sous le nom de Pectinariella edmundi Bosser ex Verlynde & Ramandimbisoa, sp. nov. Enfin, une troisième espèce, endémique des forêts de l'est de Madagascar, qui possède un ensemble de caractères floraux inédits pour ce genre, est décrite ici, Pectinariella scroticalcar Verlynde & Ramandimbisoa, sp. nov. Pour chaque espèce, nous fournissons le statut de conservation, une illustration, ainsi que des notes sur l'écologie et la distribution. Une clef des six espèces de Pectinariella présentes à Madagascar est aussi proposée.

Une nouvelle espèce est décrite et une combinaison nouvelle est établie dans le genre Argentina Hill (Rosaceae) en Nouvelle-Guinée. Argentina wanimboi Danet, sp. nov. est proche de Argentina linilaciniata (P.Royen) Soják mais en diffère par ses feuilles condupliquées, raides, cartacées et à folioles moins segmentées, ainsi que par ses inflorescences pauciflores et les segments de l'épicalice bifides. La synonymie de Potentilla novoguineensis Merr. & L.M.Perry avec Argentina parvula (Stapf) Soják est infirmée. Pour justifier la distinction d'Argentina novoguineensis (Merr. & L.M.Perry) Danet, comb. nov., quelques caractères morphologiques sont mis en valeur comme les axes florifères à croissance indéfinie, le port rampant, le limbe foliaire étroitement obovale, les folioles davantage serretées et les étamines plus nombreuses.

Lagerstroemia L. (Lythraceae) in Indochina (Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam) comprises 21 species. Six species, namely Lagerstroemia densiflora W.J.de Wilde & Duyfjes, sp. nov., L. gagnepainii Furtado & Srisuko, L. kratiensis W.J. de Wilde & Duyfjes, L. micrantha Merr., L. lecomtei Gagnep., L. petiolaris Pierre ex Laness., only occur in Indochine. Lagerstroemia densiflora W.J.de Wilde & Duyfjes, sp. nov., from Vietnam, is new to science; it differs from the most similar Lagerstroemia duperreana Pierre ex Gagnep. by a compact and densely flowered inflorescence, the calyx tube smooth and unridged, the pseudopedicel at anthesis 3-4 mm long, in fruit 4-5 mm long, and the glabrous capsules with a smooth surface. For each species the original reference, typification, spot- characters and distribution are presented. There are two keys to the species, one for flowering and one for fruiting material.

Gypsophila farsensis Falat., Assadi & F. Ghahrem., sp. nov. is described as a new endemic species of the Center of Iran. Morphological evidences (dichasial inflorescence, tubular-campanulate calyx with wide hyaline intervals, petals two to two and a half times as the calyx with distinct limb and claw, ovules 17–27) support taxonomic placement of the new taxon in Gypsophila L. subgenus Pseudosaponaria Williams. Gypsophila farsensis, sp. nov. is close to G. platyphylla Boiss., but it differs with having shorter habit, thinner stems, glandular-hairy lower internodes, shorter internodes, linear-lanceolate leaves with less width and spatulate petals. Moreover, G. boissieriana Hausskn. & Bornm. is proposed as a synonym of G. platyphylla Boiss. Micromorphology of seeds and pollen grains is described and compared between the described taxa.

One of the most remarkable features of Cactaceae are the areoles, axillary outgrowths, which produce trichomes, spines and leaves. The subfamily Opuntioideae K. Schum. shows the widest diversity of transition forms between leaves and spines, which represents anatomical evidence that spines and glochids are modified leaves. The purpose of this paper is to provide an anatomical description of the areolar structure in four species of Opuntioideae, in order that new anatomical homology between spines/glochids and leaves may be clarified. Different patterns of areole morphology are observed: 1) Austrocylindropuntia subulata (Muehl.) Backeb. showing terete and persistent leaves; areoles with persistent spines, glochids and trichomes; 2) Opuntia monacantha (Willd.) Haw. with terete caducous leaves and persistent spines, glochids and trichomes; 3) Opuntia rufida Engelm. with terete deciduous leaves and areoles with glochids and trichomes; and 4) Opuntia microdasys (Lhem.) Pfeiff. with early caducous leaves and areoles showing trichomes and leaf-spine and leaf-glochid transition forms. The development of the areolar structures is very similar in all species, following the description of the literature for other Cactaceae Juss. In O. microdasys is described a new anatomical character in the family: mucilage cells in the leaf-glochid transition forms, which may have functional importance for water storage in species devoid of persistent leaves.

A new species of Phyllarthron DC. (Bignoniaceae) is described from Northern Madagascar: Phyllarthron longipedunculatum Callm. & Phillipson, sp. nov. The new species is endemic to low elevation tropical evergreen forests and is known from the North of the Masoala peninsula and around the foothills of the Kalobinono and Tsaratanana massifs. The new species differs from all the other species of the genus by its petiolate articulate phyllodes reduced to a single article and the cauliflorous inflorescences gathered on a contracted raceme at the apex of a long peduncle. Line drawings are provided, along with a discussion of its morphological affinities and a preliminary risk of extinction assessment.
