*Ana Cristina Mugetti graduated in hydraulic and civil engineering at Universidad Nacional de La Plata – Argentina; 1980 and 1982, respectively. She has been in charge of several hydraulic design projects in the public and private sectors. As from 1994 and up to the present, she is an advisor to Argentina's Water Resources Undersecretariat. In 1997 she became a member of the Argentine Institute of Water Resources board (Instituto Argentino de Recursos Hídricos), where she is presently vice-president. She was co-coordinator for the Global International Waters Assessment (GIWA-UNEP) project on Subregion 38, Patagonian Shelf, between July 2001 and August 2002. **Alberto Tomás Calcagno has degrees in civil engineering and land surveying, from Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a Master in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. In 1987 he became Head of the technical department of Corpus Project. In 1988 he joined HIDRONOR (North Patagonian Hydroelectric Agency) as a board member and, later, vice-president and president of the executive committee. From 1997 to 2000 he acted as technical coordinator in the GEF/UNEP/OAS project to set up a Strategic Action Plan for Development of the bi-national Bermejo river basin. In July 2002, he was appointed senior advisor and then promoted to coordinator at UNEP Dams and Development Project, Nairobi, Kenya. His address: P.O. ***Carlos Alberto Brieva has a BSc in agricultural engineering from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has been a member of the Technical Team for Argentina during the definition of the Strategic Action Program for the Bi-National Basin of the Bermejo River SAP-Bermejo GEF-UNEP-OAS (1998 – 2000). He participated in the project “Regional Study of Hydro-geological Risks in Northwest Argentina” (2001–2002). As from 2002 he has been a member of the Technical Unit for Argentina in the implementation phase of the SAP- Bermejo GEF-UNEP-OAS. He has also assisted in the coordination of the Global International Waters Assessment (GIWA-UNEP) project for Subregion 38: Patagonian Shelf, as member of the Argentine Institute of Water Resources (IARH): Alberti 1556 1 Ap. ****Maria Silvia Giangiobbe graduated has an BSc (marine specialization, 1982), from the Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata. Between 1988 and July 1991, she worked at the INADEP. As from July 1992, she is a technical staff member at the then Natural Resources and Environment Secreteriat and nowadays Environment and Sustainable Development Secretariat, within the Wild Life Department. During 2003, she cooperated with the Argentine Institute of Water Resources in the Global International Waters Assessment (GIWA-UNEP) project. *****Andrea Pagani graduated in 1987 in economy at Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, (UNMDP). She also has taken Masters in economy and industrial development at the General Sarmiento and Mar del Plata national universities. From 1988, she teaches at the UNMDP, and is assistant professor in macroeconomics and fishing economics. At present, she is a researcher at the Fishing Economy Group (INIDEP-UNMDP). During 2003, Ms Pagani contributed to Argentine Institute of Water Resources in the Global International Waters Assessment (GIWA-UNEP). ******Silvia G. Gonzalez graduated in 1997 in geography at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, where she is taking a doctor's degree course. She was granted a post-grade fellowship from CONICET. Afterwards, she became a researcher on flood risk management for the Natural Resources and Environment Program, Geographical Institute, Philosophy and Letters school (UBA). Since July 2001, she is a technical project assistant at the Argentine Institute of Water Resources, Patagonian Shelf's focus for the Global International Waters Assessment (GIWA-UNEP).
