The following new taxonomic changes in nine tribes of Ephydridae are proposed: status at species level: Ditrichophora amoena (Duda, 1942); 2 resurrections from synonymy: Ptilomyia madeirensis Stuke, 2012, bona species, and P. orsovana (Enderlein, 1922), bona species; 10 new combinations: Allotrichoma communis (Malloch, 1934), comb. nov., Athyroglossa bettelai (Canzoneri, 1995), comb. nov., Ceropsilopa africana (Canzoneri & Meneghini, 1969), comb. nov., Ceropsilopa flavescens (Frey, 1958), comb. nov., Diclasiopa affinis (Tonnoir & Malloch, 1926), comb. nov., Diclasiopa flavitarsis (Tonnoir & Malloch, 1926), comb. nov., Diclasiopa senegalensis (Canzoneri, 1981), comb. nov., Ditrichophora amoena (Duda, 1942), comb. nov., Hoploaegis albitarsis (Canzoneri & Rampini, 1998), comb. nov., and Placopsidella opacula (Thomson, 1869), comb. nov.; 32 new synonyms: Allotrichoma giordanii Canzoneri, 1981 = A. incertum Frey, 1958 = A. biroi Cresson, 1929; Athyroglossa flavicoxa Stuke, 2012 = A. rossii (Canzoneri & Raffone, 1987); Ceropsilopa fisseli (Canzoneri, 1981) = C. flavescens (Frey, 1958); Ditrichophora bezzii (Canzoneri & Meneghini, 1975) = D. amoena (Duda, 1942); D. canzonerii Rampini, 1980 = D. olivacea (Becker, 1896); D. fusca Miyagi, 1977 = D. griseifacies (Canzoneri, 1976) = D. palliditarsis Becker, 1896; D. nectens (Collin, 1942) = D. moraviae (Becker, 1926); D. graeca (Canzoneri & Meneghini, 1985) = D. rampinii (Canzoneri & Meneghini, 1975); Eutaenionotum olivaceum Oldenberg, 1923 = E. guttipennis (Stenhammar, 1844); Gymnoclasiopa tirolensis (Canzoneri & Rallo, 1979) = G. aurivillii (Becker, 1896) = G. nigerrima (Strobl, 1893); G. dimidiatipennis (Strobl, 1893) = G. coxalis (Strobl, 1893); Hecamedoides paradoxus Canzoneri & Raffone, 1987 = H dahli Miyagi, 1977 = H. infantinus (Becker, 1924); Hyadina borkumensis Stuke, 2020 = H. minima (Papp, 1975); Hydrellia geniculata flavitarsis (Stenhammar, 1844) = H. geniculata (Stenhammar, 1844); H. litoralis Miyagi, 1977 = H. gentilis Dahl, 1968; H. asymmetrica Papp, 1983 = H. sera Cresson, 1932 = H. stratiotae Hering, 1925; H. pseudofusca Raffone, 2015 = H. albifrons (Fallén); H. riparia Raffone, 2014 = H. fusca (Stenhammar 1844); H. pratensis Raffone, 2015 = H. veneta Raffone, 2015 = H. incana (Stenhammar 1844) = H. incana obscurata (Stenhammar, 1844) = H. maura Meigen, 1838 = H. albiceps (Meigen, 1824); H. saharae Giordani Soika, 1956 = H. maculiventris Becker, 1896; Philygria doczkali Stuke, 2021 = Ph. tirolis (Cresson, 1930); Ptilomyia africana (Cresson, 1943) = P. kairensis (Becker, 1903); P. angustigenis (Becker, 1926) = P. orsovana (Enderlein, 1922). Two replacement names are suggested in Ephydridae: Allotrichoma cratquam, new name for Notiphila nigripes Macquart, 1851, preoccupied by Waltl, 1837 and Zetterstedt, 1838, also Lamproscatella zhyazha, new name for L. minuta Zhou, Yang & Zhang, 2013, preoccupied by Krivosheina, 2004; one in Drosophilidae: Phortica mallochi new name is proposed for Phortica annulata Malloch, 1923, not Loew, 1845. Three species are synonymized with taxa in Drosophilidae: Hydrellia alboguttata Loew, 1845 = Amiota alboguttata (Wahlberg, 1839), Hydrellia annulata Loew, 1845 = Phortica variegata (Fallen, 1823), Hydrellia flavipes Macquart, 1835 = Scaptomyza graminum (Fallén, 1823); one species is moved to Heleomyzidae: Notiphila alboclavata Bigot, 1888 = Prosopanthrum diadematum (Bigot, 1888), and one to Milichiidae: Gymnopa opaca Rondani, 1869 = Desmometopa m-nigrum (Zetterstedt, 1848).
