This work reports the presence of Neoscona byzanthina (Pavesi, 1876) in Romania, partly based on records provided by citizen scientists. The species was found at five different locations. Further, morphological differences to the other species of the genus are summarized and some data on the ecology of this species together with an up-to-date distribution in Europe are presented. This is the third Neoscona species recorded in Romania and comparative pictures of the epigyne of all these species are provided.

Minosiella intermedia Denis, 1958, from the family Gnaphosidae, is recorded from Egypt (Sadat City), and thereby the African continent, for the first time. The record, originating from a drip-irrigated pomegranate orchard, is based only on male specimens. It is the fourth recorded species of the genus Minosiella Dalmas, 1921 in Egypt. Diagnostic drawings and images of the copulatory organs are presented together with a depiction of the habitat.

The first record of Leiurus abdullahbayrami Yağmur, Koç & Kunt, 2009 for Lebanon is presented, collected in the East Bekaa province. This is the second Leiurus species reported for this country. The medical importance of L. abdullahbayrami, associated with severe and fatal cases among children in Turkey and Syria, makes it highly relevant to determine its current distribution range in the Levant region.

Heriaeus buffoni (Audouin, 1826) is reported for the first time from the Canary Islands, where it was found on Lanzarote. This also represents the first record of the genus in the archipelago. All individuals were collected with pitfall traps installed in nitrophilous synanthropic shrub vegetation near urban areas. Species identification was based on male genitalia only as females were not sampled. A map including all known records from Lanzarote, drawings of the pedipalps and photographs of living and preserved specimens are presented.

We revised the type material of Thanatus aridorum Šilhavý, 1940, and noticed that it is a subadult female. Consideration of morphological characters of the three Thanatus species which co-occur at the type locality of T. aridorum led us to conclude that it is a junior synonym of Thanatus formicinus (Clerck, 1757), new synonymy.

Das Typenmaterial von Thanatus aridorum Šilhavý, 1940 wurde untersucht und dabei festgestellt, dass es sich um ein subadultes Weibchen handelt. Die Betrachtung der morphologischen Merkmale der drei an der Typuslokalität von T. aridorum vorkommenden Arten der Gattung Thanatus führten zu dem Ergebnis, dass es sich um ein jüngeres Synonym von Thanatus formicinus (Clerck, 1757), neues Synonym, handelt.

Zrevidováním typového exempláře druhu Thanatus aridorum Šilhavý, 1940 jsme zjistili, že se jedná o nedospělou samici. Porovnali jsme jí se subadultními samicemi všech tří druhů rodu Thanatus vyskytujících se na Mohelenské hadcové stepi a na základě velikosti a tvaru pre-epigyny jsme došli k závěru, že se jedná o nedospělou samici druhu Thanatus formicinus (Clerck, 1757), nová synonymie.

New data on the distribution of the genus Anyphaena Sundevall, 1833 in Mediterranean Europe and North Africa are given. Anyphaena alboirrorata Simon, 1878 is newly recorded in the Maghreb. The species was found in the Saharan and the Tell Atlas in Algeria, in one locality in Morocco and three localities in central north Tunisia. In addition, Anyphaena numida Simon, 1897 is presented as new to Morocco, together with a further record from Algeria and Tunisia. Supplementary material from Spain was examined and the data are also given. Anyphaena sabina L. Koch, 1866 is recorded for the first time in Algeria since records by Denis in 1937.

Neue Daten zur Verbreitung der Gattung Anyphaena im mediterranen Europa und Nordafrika werden präsentiert. Anyphaena alboirrorata Simon, 1878 wurde erstmals im Maghreb nachgewiesen. Die Art wurde im Sahara- und Tellatlas in Algerien, von einer Lokalität in Marokko sowie drei Lokalitäten im nördlichen Bereich von Zentraltunesien gefunden. Zusätzlich wird der Erstnachweis von Anyphaena numida Simon, 1897 für Tunesien sowie ein weiterer Nachweis aus Algerien vorgestellt. Ergänzendes Material aus Spanien wurde untersucht und wird ebenfalls präsentiert. Anyphaena sabina L. Koch, 1866 ist zum ersten Mal seit dem Fund von Denis im Jahr 1937 in Algerien nachgewiesen.

Dolomedes plantarius has been rediscovered in Saxony (Germany) for the first time since its only previous finding in 1948. The new discoveries were made between 1996 and 2021 in northern Upper Lusatia by sweep netting in the marginal, emergent and floating vegetation around an extensively used swimming lake and three fish ponds. All ponds where the species was recorded are located in areas with several still-water bodies and are characterised by a structurally rich marginal or floating vegetation. The water bodies showed a high nutrient content and the swimming lake had a very low pH. As part of their management, the fish ponds are regularly drained in autumn. We suppose that after the ponds are refilled in spring D. plantarius recolonises from neighbouring ponds that retained their water.

Nach dem ersten und einzigen Fund im Jahr 1948 wurde Dolomedes plantarius zwischen 1996 und 2021 wiederholt in der nördlichen Oberlausitz (Sachsen) gefunden. Die Zufallsfunde gelangen in der Ufervegetation beziehungsweise dem Schwimmblattgürtel eines extensiv genutzten Badesees und von drei Fischteichen mit Hilfe von Kescherfängen. Alle Teiche, in denen die Art nachgewiesen werden konnte, liegen in Gebieten mit mehreren Stillgewässern und zeichnen sich durch eine strukturreiche Ufer- oder Schwimmblattvegetation aus. Die Gewässer wiesen einen hohen Nährstoffgehalt auf, der Badesee einen sehr niedrigen pH-Wert. Die Fischteiche werden im Rahmen der Bewirtschaftung regelmäßig im Herbst abgelassen. Es ist anzunehmen, dass D. plantarius die Teiche nach der Bespannung im Frühjahr von benachbarten, wasserführenden Teichen wiederbesiedelt.

The paper presents new data on the diversity and distribution of pseudoscorpions from seven localities in the Stebnícka Magura massif in the Low Beskids, two localities in the East Carpathians Protected Landscape Area (PLA) and one locality in the Vihorlat PLA, Slovakia, collected by sieving methods. Altogether, 372 pseudoscorpion specimens belonging to 15 species and four families were sampled over three years (2007, 2010, 2015). The most abundant families were Neobisiidae (335 specimens, nine taxa) and Chthoniidae (33 specimens, four taxa); while the families Cheiridiidae and Chernetidae were represented by only one species each. Neobisium sylvaticum (C. L. Koch, 1835), Neobisium erythrodactylum (L. Koch, 1873), Ephippiochthonius boldorii (Beier, 1934), Ephippiochthonius tetrachelatus (Preyssler, 1790) and Roncus sp. were recorded only in the East Carpathians PLA within our study. The most abundant species was Neobisium crassifemoratum (Beier, 1928). The species Ephippiochthonius boldorii and Ephippiochthonius fuscimanus (Simon, 1900) were found in this area for the first time.

Die vorliegende Arbeit enthält neue Daten über die Diversität und Verbreitung von Pseudoskorpionen aus sieben Fundorten in Stebnícka Magura in den Niederen Beskiden, zwei Fundorten im Landschaftsschutzgebiet (LSG) Ostkarpaten und einem Fundort in Vihorlat LSG, Slowakei, gesammelte mit der Siebmethode. Insgesamt 372 Pseudoskorpion-Exemplare, die zu 15 Arten und vier Familien gehören, wurden in drei einjährigen Saisons (2007, 2010, 2015) identifiziert. Am häufigsten waren die Familien Neobisiidae (335 Exemplare, neun Taxa) und Chthoniidae (33 Exemplare, vier Taxa); die Familien Cheiridiidae und Chernetidae waren jeweils nur mit einer Art vertreten. Neobisium sylvaticum (C. L. Koch, 1835), Neobisium erythrodactylum (L. Koch, 1873), Ephippiochthonius boldorii (Beier, 1934), Ephippiochthonius tetrachelatus (Preyssler, 1790) und Roncus sp. wurden nur im Landschaftsschutzgebiet Ostkarpaten erfasst. Die zahlreichste Art in der gesamten Untersuchung war Neobisium crassifemoratum (Beier, 1928). Bemerkenswert sind die Nachweise von Ephippiochthonius boldorii und Ephippiochthonius fuscimanus (Simon, 1900), die erstmals in dieser Region gefunden wurden.

Female specimens of the genera Larinia Simon, 1874 (Araneidae) and Uroctea Dufour, 1820 (Oecobiidae) are reported from southern Iraq, representing the first records of both these genera for the Iraqi spider fauna. The specimens were identified as Larinia chloris (Audouin, 1826) and Uroctea thaleri Rheims, Santos & van Harten, 2007. The first species was found near water, corroborating observations in the literature that it prefers riparian habitats. The characteristic features of the species are described and figured and illustrations of the habitat are presented.

Weibliche Individuen der Gattungen Larinia Simon, 1874 (Araneidae) und Uroctea Dufour, 1820 (Oecobiidae) werden aus dem südlichen Irak präsentiert und stellen die Erstnachweise der beiden Gattungen für den Irak dar. Die Individuen wurden als Larinia chloris (Audouin, 1826) und Uroctea thaleri Rheims, Santos & van Harten, 2007 identifiziert. Die erste Art wurde in der Nähe von einem Gewässer gefunden, was bisherige Angaben in der Literatur bestätigt. Die charakteristischen Merkmale der Arten werden beschrieben und illustriert sowie Bilder des Habitats gezeigt.
