NANCY L. STAUB*
*Nancy L. Staub (staub@gonzaga.edu) is an associate professor of biology at Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA 99258. She teaches a variety of courses, including organismal biology, genetics and evolution, and advanced evolutionary biology. Her research interests include the evolution of sexual dimorphism and the origin of morphological novelties. Her current work explores the role of androgens in the expression of unusual secondary sexual traits in females of the salamander genus Aneides. She wrote this paper last year while on leave at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, University of California, Berkeley.
