Two species of Eviota are described, E. aquila, new species, from Taiwan and E. epistigmata, new species, from the Moluccas, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. Eviota epistigmata, new species, has a dorsal/anal-fin formula of 8/8; the fifth pelvic-fin rays are absent or rudimentary; a small, dark occipital spot is present; five or fewer dark internal spots or bands between anal-fin origin and caudal fin; no distinct marking on the pectoral-fin base; and no dark pigment on the opercular membrane.
