A new species, Homolophus snegovayae sp. nov. (Opiliones, Phalangiidae), is described and illustrated based on a male and females collected in southeast Anatolia, Turkey. Differences between the new species and related species are discussed. Photographs of characteristic structures are also provided.

Bibionidae are distributed worldwide; Penthetria is one genus in the family. Characteristics of the adult Penthetria japonica Wiedemann are well described in the literature. Here we describe for the first time the characteristics of the immature stages, including egg, mature larva, and pupa.

The genus Mymaromma is represented by five species throughout the world. A new species of Mymaromma, M. ignatii, is described from the Indian subcontinent.

Acria trigoniprojecta Wang, sp. nov. is described from Yunnan, China. Acria camelodes (Meyrick, 1905) is newly recorded for China. Comparison of the new species with its close relative is given. Images of adults and genitalia are provided.

Yangixiphia Wei, 2002 and Yangixiphia brachygenata Wei, 2002 are redescribed. Two new species, Y. bicoloristigma and Y. nigricornis from China are described. A key to species of the genus is provided.

Two harvestmen species were collected from Trabzon Province in Turkey. Rilaena ermani sp. n. is described as new to science, and Rilaena zakatalica Snegovaya & Chemeris, 2005 is recorded for the first time in Turkey. Detailed descriptions and illustrations of new species are provided. Differences between the new species and related species are discussed. In addition, illustrations of new record are also presented.

We discuss two insects feeding on foliage of sea lavender (Plumbaginaceae: Limonium carolinianum (Walt.) Britt.) in Maine and Massachusetts, USA. Staticobium Mordvilko (Hemiptera: Aphididae) is documented in North America for the first time. A revision of the genus is needed before these aphids can be placed to species. We report the rearing of Gynnidomorpha romonana (Kearfott) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) and a parasitoid (Braconidae: Microgastrinae) from larvae mining sea lavender leaves.

Three poorly known Mexican species of Staphylininae are recorded for the first time from four states, namely Philonthus pollens Márquez and Asiain, 2010 from Estado de México and Michoacán, Phanolinus speciosus Sharp, 1884 from Chiapas and Plochionocerus discedens (Sharp, 1885) from Jalisco. Their distribution is described based on previously detected distributional patterns for staphylinids and other beetles, as well as in relation to the Mexican biogeographic provinces and biotic components.
