Atheas mimeticus Heidemann is recorded from Canada (Manitoba) for the first time. Known biological information is discussed and an updated host list for the species of the genus is provided.

Cerceris fumipennis is a colonial wasp that preferentially preys on native and nonnative Buprestidae, which includes emerald ash borer (EAB), Agrilus planipennis. EAB is currently a major threat to ash tree (Fraxinus spp.) populations in the northeast United States and parts of Canada, and C. fumipennis is used for bio-surveillance of this destructive pest. This wasp catches, stings, and paralyzes buprestid and other beetles that then serve as a live food source for the wasp larvae. Two large colonies of C. fumipennis were monitored during the summer of 2013 in Merrimack County, NH, USA, to determine seasonality of C. fumipennis and to document the prey species and the levels of paralyzation of these species. There were 853 individuals consisting of 34 buprestid species and one chrysomelid species taken from C. fumipennis females. Eleven of these species had paralyzation rates of less than 100%, consisting of 11% of the total collected prey. Chrysobothris verdigripennis, Agrilus carpini, Actenodes acornis are new state records for New Hampshire.

The genus Telmatopelopia Fittkau is newly recorded from Oriental China based on pupal exuviae of an undescribed species. The generic diagnosis of the pupal stage is emended.

The roles of vision in host orientation and mate finding were investigated in a major coleopteran pest of broad-leaved plants, the white-striped longhorned beetle Batocera lineolata, in the laboratory. Adults oriented strongly to host-related wavelengths (560–600 nm), and preferred different target wavelengths under different light sources (artificial light and natural light). The combined effect of color and volatile organic compounds from host plants were significantly attractive to B. lineolata adults (P<0.05). Blinded adults could find mates by olfaction alone, but needed more time (P<0.05). Our findings will help to understand visual and volatile attraction in this longhorned beetle and may present potential novel approaches for sustainable management.

Research status of the family Tetrigidae in Thailand is reviewed. Scelimena songkrana Zha and Wen sp. nov. is described and illustrated with photographs and compared with similar taxa. A key to 4 species of Thai Scelimena is given and morphological variations among these species are compared. Biology and ecology of the species are recorded and discussed, which are compared with S. melli Günther of the same genus.

The striped stem borer Chilo suppressalis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) is an important generalist feeder on gramineous crops and is difficult to control. To develop sound IPM programs, efficient methods for improving pupation and eclosion rates are desirable. Novel pupation substrates based on plastic wraps and towels were developed. The pupation rate, pupal mortality rate and eclosion rate were calculated to evaluate the performance of pupal C. suppressalis under different pupation substrates (i.e., bibulous paper, corrugated paper, paper scroll). Larvae pupated on the new substrates (i.e., plastic wraps covered with towels) showed the best performance among the substrates. These results indicated that pupal C. suppressalis adapted well to the new substrates, and the substrates could serve as a viable alternative to traditional chartaceous substrates for pupation. In addition, the substrates are time-saving, recyclable, contamination-free, and can maintain a relatively suitable humidity. The successful technique of improving pupation and eclosion rates for C. suppressalis supplies a very important tool for pest management.

This work presents the first record of Dolichoderus quadridenticulatus (Roger, 1862) (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) from Amazonas, Brazil. It also includes the species description, illustrations, nest description, the colony behavior and the geographical distribution map of this species.

A new species of Heredius Marsh (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) is described from Brazil. Heredius assu Castro & Penteado-Dias sp. n. differs from the other two known species mainly having head and most flagellomeres black, malar space about 0.2 times eye height, scutellum and propodeum acinose, first and second metasomal tergite carinate-lacunose. A key to the described species of Heredius Marsh is provided.

Five new state records for Florida Corixidae are given. Two introduced species of Micronectidae are discussed. A checklist of all Florida Corixidae and Micronectidae is presented.

Eudocima spp. adults are moths that feed on ripe or ripening fruit. Occasionally, some species can cause economic losses in commercial crops. In Mexico, this group of lepidopterans has been little studied and the information is limited to capture records in diverse regions of the country. However, in recent years, damage to commercial maradol papaya crops caused by these moths has been detected. The species identified as Eudocima serpentifera and Eudocima apta were found feeding on papaya fruits. Although the two moths can be differentiated by external characteristics, problems have arisen in terms of determining the species. This paper provides comparative descriptions and images of diagnostic traits for precise identification. Moreover, the damage that these species cause is described and illustrated.
