A bryological inventory of four natural areas in northeastern and southern Rhode Island documented the presence of 97 mosses (including 13 peat mosses) and 21 liverworts. While no modern checklist of Rhode Island bryophytes exists, the list of the species found is a starting point for further exploration and documentation of the bryoflora of this New England State.
