Abstract

A survey of granitic rock surfaces, talus and outcrops, at 25 sites in Rocky Mountain National Park yielded 81 saxicolous lichen species. Fifteen species in 11 genera, or 19% of the total species, were dominant. Observed only once were 31% or 25 species. No new species were reported. Our results show typical saxicolous lichen communities with 57% crustose species.
