A total of 464 Teloschistes chrysophthalmus (L.) Th. Fr. populations were collected, along with winter twigs from their woody substrates, in 56 of Iowa's 99 counties. This lichen is more abundant in western Iowa than in eastern Iowa and is least abundant in the northeast most portion of Iowa. T. chrysophthalmus was found on the bark of 31 distinct woody taxa, but was most frequently found on Gleditsia triacanthos.

The objective of this work was to identify and disseminate the list of species collected by Dr. Rudolf Mathias schuster in the Projeto Flora Amazônica expedition to Rio Negro. We analyzed 929 specimens without any determination housed at sP herbarium from duplicates received as a donation from the INPA herbarium. We found 164 species in 63 genera including isotypes of Cololejeunea schusteri Pócs, Pycnolejeunea remotistipula C.J.P.Bastos & C.E.Zartman and Telaranea tenuifolia (R.M.schust.) J.Engel & Merrill. this species number is 28% of the bryophytes and 54% of the liverwort species cited for the Amazon Biome.

Lichen inspired art is explored through interviews with eleven artists, three of whom are scientists. Topics including conservation, lichenological contexts, and decolonialization of imagination are discussed.
