Abstract

A new semi-succulent species of Euphorbia (Euphorbiaceae), E. erythrocucullata, is described from SW Madagascar. The taxon is placed in the subgenus Lacanthis Raf. and grouped with E. pedilanthoides Denis; placement in this group is discussed.
