Abstract

Xiao, Z., 2020. Relationship between financial innovation and marine economic growth: A VAR-based model. In: Gong, D.; Zhang, M., and Liu, R. (eds.), Advances in Coastal Research: Engineering, Industry, Economy, and Sustainable Development. Journal of Coastal Research, Special Issue No. 106, pp. 61–64. Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.

This paper focuses on the relationship between marine-related loans and marine economic development. Using a VAR model, this paper proves the role of marine loans in promoting marine economic growth. Then, the approaches and schemes of banking institutions entering the marine economic and financial market are analyzed. There is a pull and significant causal relationship between marine loans and the marine economy, but this pull effect is relatively lagging. Finally, some suggestions are put forward to promote the cooperation between financial institutions and marine enterprises.
