In ocean engineering, the pile foundation requires higher anti-overturning bearing capacity. The concrete expanded plate pile is the new type pile with advantages of energy saving, so it is applied widely in ocean engineering. By establishing the soil model of the expanded plate pile with different diameters, the displacement and load results of the expanded plate pile and soil are compared and analyzed, combining with the results of software simulation analysis and test to determine the failure state of soil around the rigid-body expanded plate pile under horizontal force. This paper proposes that the calculation model of the ultimate horizontal bearing capacity of the rigid-body expanded plate pile with soil failure be taken into consideration, which provides a theoretical basis for improving the calculation model of the horizontal bearing capacity of the rigid-body expanded plate pile.
