Coastal rural economy and logistics are new growth points in the marine economy. The coordinated development of coastal rural logistics industry and the environment is beneficial to strengthen the role of the eastern developed regions in promoting function to the central and western regions. Based on a perspective of self-organization perspective, this research used machine-learning methods with historical data input into a self-organizing map (SOM) model combined with the maximum flow theory to explore coastal rural logistics development trends and mechanisms. The implementation of urbanization policy has become an important driving force for urban spatial expansion. The economic development of coastal rural areas has led to the expansion of coastal rural logistics space but lags behind the expansion of coastal rural buildup. The winning coastal rural subspace is the core factor in reconstruction of coastal rural logistical space and the growth in the coastal rural logistical scale.
