Neoheterobothrium chilensis n. sp. (Monogenea: Diclidophoridae) from the gills of the bigeye flounder Hippoglossina macrops (Paralichthyidae: Pleuronectiformes) from northern Chile (30°11′S, 71°51′W) is described and compared with the known species in the genus. Diagnostic characters include the position of the seminal receptacle, the number of hooks in the male copulatory organ, the number of testes, and the relative size of the clamp peduncles.
