Nordus praedator sp. nov. (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) is described based on three specimens collected in Jalisco, México. Specimens were collected on leaves that they use for perching behavior and in the mushroom Hydnopolyporus fimbriatus. Specimens of Nordus championi were recently collected with carrion traps baited with fish.
