Abstract

A new species of Paradoneis, P. strelzovi new species, is described from Salsipuedes Bay, western coast of Baja California Peninsula, Mexico. It is characterized by the presence of neuropodial acicular chaetae in the posterior parapodia. The species closely resembles P. eliasoni Mackie, 1991, described from the North Sea, but both species differ in the starting chaetiger of the notopodial lyrate chaetae, number of branchiae, shape of anterior notopodial lobes, and length of anal cirri.
