Abstract

Se reporta la presencia del pequeño escarabajo de la colmena (PEC) Aethina tumida (Coleoptera: Nitidulidae) en San Blas, Nayarit, México. Los escarabajos se encontraron entre las cámaras de cría, tapas y techos. Se capturaron 32 adultos, plaga de las abejas y colmenas no reportada con anterioridad en Nayarit.

The presence of the small hive beetle (PEC) Aethina tumida (Coleoptera: Nitidulidae) is reported in San Blas, Nayarit, Mexico. The beetles were found between breeding chambers, lids and roofs. 32 adults were collected, a pest of bees and hives not previously reported in Nayarit.
