Se reporta por primera vez la presencia de Specularius impressithorax (Pic) en Honduras alimentándose de un nuevo hospedero, Erythrina berteroana Urb (Fabaceae); la planta o partes de ésta pueden ser utilizadas como medicina-etnomédica, alimento para animales, artesanía, ornamental, agroforestería, leña. El insecto se relaciona directamente con la planta, ya que éste requiere de las semillas para completar su desarrollo.

The presence of Specularius impressithorax (Pic) in Honduras feeding in a new host plant, Erythrina berteroana Urb (Fabaceae), is reported for the first time from Honduras; the plant or parts of it can be used as ethnomedical medicine, animal food, crafts, ornamental, agroforestry, and firewood. The insect is directly related to the plant, since it requires the seeds to complete its development.
