Abstract

A bryological survey in southeastern Brazil revealed a new species, Cylindrocolea brasiliensis (Cephaloziellaceae). The principal distinguishing character of this species is the dentate margin of the ventral leaf-lobe. The new species is described, illustrated and discussed, and an updated key to the Brazilian species of Cylindrocolea is provided.
