The Commission has conserved the specific name Heteropsis narcissus (Fabricius, 1798), despite being a junior homonym of Hypochrysops narcissus (Fabricius, 1775). Both names are currently in use to designate separate and well-recognized species, belonging to two distinct genera in two butterfly families from different geographic regions.
