Abstract

The International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature has used its specific powers to rule that the name Tapirus pygmaeus van Roosmalen & van Hooft, 2013 was made available in a book titled “Barefoot through the Amazon: on the path of evolution” and that this name has priority over Tapirus kabomani Cozzuol, Clozato, Holanda, Rodrigues, Nienow, De Thoisy, Redondo & Santos, 2013 whenever both names are considered to be synonyms.
