Examination of 1,805 specimens of seed beetles (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Bruchinae) from Mexico in the National Museum of Natural History (USNM), Washington, DC, resulted in discovery of unpublished data from 11 genera and 63 species. New country records for Mexico include Amblycerus lineolatus (Motschulsky, 1874) and Amblycerus luctuosus (Sharp, 1885). Seven plant species are reported as new host records: Prosopis articulata S. Watson and Senna mollissima var. glabrata (Benth.) H.S. Irwin & Barneby (both Leguminosae) for Amblycerus obscurus (Sharp, 1885), Rhynchosia pyramidalis (Lam.) Urb. (Leguminosae) for Zabrotes subfasciatus (Boheman, 1833), Abutilon palmeriA. Gray (Malvaceae) for Abutiloneus flavicornis (Sharp, 1885), Prosopis chilensis (Molina) Stuntz for Algarobius johnsoni Kingsolver, 1986, Prosopis articulata S. Watson for Algarobius prosopis (LeConte, 1858), and Bauhinia macranthera Hemsl. (Leguminosae) for Gibbobruchus divaricatae Whitehead and Kingsolver, 1975. Canavalia maritima Thouars (Leguminosae) is confirmed as a host for Caryedes longicollis (Fahraeus, 1839). Twenty-four new state records are reported for more localized distributions within Mexico. Updated information from specimens previously published is included.

Six new species of Pachybrachis Chevrolat from the southwestern United States are described. Pachybrachis ashfork Barney, new species, Pachybrachis ephedra Barney, new species, Pachybrachis huachuca Barney, new species, Pachybrachis hurricane Barney, new species, Pachybrachis saguaro Barney, new species, and Pachybrachis texasensis Barney, new species are similar in appearance to several other species that are large, without ocular lines, with enlarged front tarsal claws, and have aedeagal median lobes with wisps and keels: Pachybrachis chaoticus Fall, Pachybrachis crassus Bowditch, Pachybrachis cylindricus Bowditch, Pachybrachis hybridus Suffrian, Pachybrachis peninsularis Fall, Pachybrachis pinguescens Fall, and Pachybrachis turgidicollis Fall. Descriptions, figures, and range maps are presented for each species.

This paper is the second in a series on the genus Trachys Fabricius from China. Six new species are described and illustrated from China: Trachys lingdongshanensis Peng, new species; Trachys albopilosus Peng, new species; Trachys latipennis Peng, new species; Trachys aureolus Peng, new species; Trachys quadripennis Peng, new species; and Trachys scapulis Peng, new species.

Two new species for the Turkish weevil fauna (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Curculioninae: Cionini) of the genus Cionus Clairville, 1798 are reported: Cionus anatolicus Gültekin, Košťál, and Gültekin, new species is described, and Cionus dodeki Košťál and Caldara, 2019 is reported as a new country record for Turkey. Distributional data, remarks on biology and phenology of both species for Turkey are given.

Megaceras sarecagem Ratcliffe and Saltin is described as a new species from Oxapampa in the Pasco Region of Peru. A description, diagnosis separating it from similar species, illustrations, and a distribution map are provided.

In this paper, we report on the diversity and distribution of Dytiscidae (Coleoptera: Adephaga) collected in Far North Ontario, Canada during the years 2009 to 2014. A total of 387 individuals from 34 species and 14 genera were collected, which represent 20.9% of the known Ontario fauna. Of these, 24 species are Nearctic (70.6%) and 10 species Holarctic (29.4%). Most species have a transcontinental distribution in Canada and are characteristic of the Boreal Ecozone. Two species, Hygrotus unguicularis (Crotch, 1874) and Nebrioporus depressus (Fabricius, 1775), are recorded in Ontario for the first time. The collection of black-bodied Nebrioporus macronychus (Short and Angus, 1992) in this study is a unique feature amongst North American species of Nebrioporus Régimbart, 1906.

The genus Metaparia Crotch, 1873 is revised and its species illustrated. A brief systematic history is provided. Metaparia mandibuloflexa Sublett, Schultz, and Cook, new species and Metaparia prosopis Sublett, Schultz, and Cook, new species are described. Metaparia distincta (Jacoby, 1881) is transferred to Brachypnoea Gistel, 1848, new combination; Metaparia fulvicornis (Jacoby, 1890), Metaparia thoracica (Jacoby, 1881), and Metaparia violacea (Jacoby, 1890) are transferred to Spintherophyta Dejean, 1836, new combination; and Metaparia laevicollis (Jacoby, 1881) is transferred to Dispardentium Sublett and Cook, new genus, new combination. Spintherophyta fulvicornis (Jacoby 1890: 197), new combination is identified as a secondary junior homonym of Spintherophyta fulvicornis (Jacoby 1890: 185), and the replacement name Spintherophyta jacobyi Sublett and Cook, new name is proposed. The genus Dispardentium Sublett and Cook, new genus is described. Each taxon is accompanied by an indication of the type, a description, illustrations of diagnostic features, a diagnosis to separate it from similar taxa, a summary of the known distribution, and a list of specimens examined. Three newly reported characters to delimit Metaparia and three newly reported characters to separate its species are identified. Female diagnostic characters are identified and illustrated for the first time. Keys to Metaparia and related genera and to species of Metaparia are provided.

The species of Dytiscidae from the Miradores Lagoon in central Veracruz (Mexico) are identified and reported. The fauna in this artificial waterbody consists of 30 species from 17 genera and six subfamilies. This represents 15% and 42% of the previously reported species from Mexico and the state of Veracruz, respectively. The most species-rich subfamily was Hydroporinae with 14 species, followed by Laccophilinae (six species), Dytiscinae (four species), Copelatinae (three species), Colymbetinae (two species), and Cybistrinae (one species). The general habitat distribution showed that 28 species were present in the swamp, 14 in the shoreline, and nine in temporary holes. Eight species were found occurring in the three habitats. With regard to seasonality, 14 species (≈50%) were present during the entire year, while 14 species were present during the warm rainy and cold rainy seasons and two species were present during both the dry and rainy seasons. An annotated list and an illustrated key to the species of Dytiscidae from the Miradores Lagoon are provided.

A taxonomic reappraisal of the marine littoral Cafius algarum (Sharp, 1874) and its related species along the western Pacific and the western Atlantic coasts including the Caribbean Sea is presented based on morphological and molecular characters (COI and 28S). Specimens of the three species (C. algarum, Cafius subtilis Cameron, 1922, and Cafius aguayoi Bierig, 1934), each having its own distinct geographic distribution, are extremely similar to each other including the form of the aedeagus. The molecular analyses support the validity of C. algarum with two synonymies based on morphological characters. Genetic divergence of COI using uncorrected p-distance among the three Cafius Stephens species ranged from 0% to 5.27%. All three species were strongly supported as a single lineage on both neighbor-joining and parsimony trees. Cafius subtilis, new synonym and C. aguayoi, new synonym are synonymized under C. algarum. Cafius algarum is redescribed with illustrations of diagnostic characters. The distributional extension among the populations of C. algarum is briefly discussed.

Three species of Clitenella Laboissière, 1927 are redescribed: Clitenella fulminans (Faldermann, 1835), Clitenella punctata Laboissière, 1927, and Clitenella unicolor Samoderzhenkov, 1988. Two new synonymies are proposed: Clitenella yunnana (Yang and Li, 1997) is placed in synonymy with C. punctata, and Clitenella sukarnoi Mohamedsaid, 2001 is synonymized with C. unicolor. A lectotype is designated for Galleruca fulminans Faldermann, 1835. New distributional records are given for C. punctata and C. unicolor. New biological information is provided for C. fulminans. A key to the species of Clitenella is provided.

Dere thoracica White, a cerambycine longhorned beetle native to eastern Asia, is newly reported from Georgia, USA, where an established population was detected. A single female was collected in a flight intercept trap in Clarke County during early 2020, and 292 adults were excavated from their pupal chambers or reared from dead branches of mimosa tree, Albizia julibrissin Durazz. (Fabaceae), during early 2021. These are the first records of the genus and species in the Nearctic Region. Dere thoracica is considered to be a generalist dependent on recently dead or dying trees. It can be easily distinguished from the native Georgia fauna of longhorned beetles, and we have provided a description and diagnosis to differentiate it from one similar species.

Ten uncommon staphylinid species from Mexico and Guatemala were investigated; they represent a new country record and 10 new state records. Data from additional localities, observations on the color pattern variation of two species, and some biogeographic comments are provided following the proposal of biotic elements (or cenocrons), distribution patterns and biogeographic regionalization of the study area.

Despite their relatively large size and abundance in diverse Nearctic ecosystems, the Paederinae (Staphylinidae) of North America have received only limited taxonomic attention since the early 1900s. In preparation for a revised key to the paederine genera of Canada and the United States, several taxonomic issues highlighted twenty years ago in the last such work (American Beetles) were investigated. Additionally, previous taxonomic confusion of Pseudolathra Casey and Lobrathium Mulsant and Rey in the Nearctic region, now both valid genera and considered rather distantly related, has created doubt surrounding the validity of subgeneric names and placement of many species. A comprehensive checklist was therefore given for the Nearctic species of Pseudolathra, and the following are treated as its junior synonyms: Lathrobiella Casey, new synonym, Lathrotaxis Casey, new synonym, Linolathra Casey, Microlathra Casey, and Paralathra Casey. Paederopsis gloydi Kistner, new synonym is treated as a junior synonym of Dacnochilus compactus (Casey). Paederopsis Wasmann, a probable synonym of Dacnochilus LeConte, is removed from the Nearctic fauna. Acrostilicus Hubbard and its single species, Acrostilicus hospes Hubbard, are redescribed based on the first available specimens in 125 years. Acrostilicus is confirmed as a valid genus in Stilicina. Lissobiops Casey, new synonym is treated as a junior synonym of Hesperobium Casey, currently a subgenus of Homaeotarsus Hochhuth. New state and province records are given for Homaeotarsus serpentinus (LeConte), new combination, Homaeotarsus cribratus (LeConte), and Homaeotarsus sellatus (LeConte).
