Abstract

Cryptocellus platnicki sp. nov. is described on the basis of specimens of both sexes from two localities in northwestern Colombia. The new species, which is most similar to C. glenoides Cooke & Shadab 1973, brings to 64 the known species of living ricinuleids, and becomes the sixth known from Colombia.
