Abstract

Neosimmondsia esakii Takahashi, 1939 is redescribed based on adult female syntypes and additional adult females from the Federated States of Micronesia. One of the examined syntypes is designated as lectotype. A complete illustration of the adult female is provided for the first time, and its diagnosis is amended. The first-instar nymph is illustrated for the first time. The host list of the species is enlarged to include Musaceae.
