Abstract

Stream sampling on the island of Martha's Vineyard and in southeastern mainland Massachusetts produced 154 species, when added to other records, 157 species have been documented, including 47 new state records. Unaltered streams on Martha's Vineyard are cold water streams with temperatures similar to streams at higher elevations in New England. Extended seasonal larval presence of several species was noted on Martha's Vineyard.
