The Ninth International Mammalogical Congress (IMC 9), formerly the International Theriological Congress (ITC), will be held in 2005 in Sapporo, Japan. The Congress will be hosted by the Science Council of Japan and the Mammalogical Society of Japan, with the support of the Hokkaido Government and the Sapporo City Government. The Organizing Committee looks forward to welcoming you to Japan and hopes that you will enjoy your stay in Sapporo.
The Congress aims to bring together mammalian biologists from around the world and to serve as a venue for them to present their latest studies. Since this will be the first IMC congress held in Asia, it is expected to contribute greatly to mammalogy in Asia.
The Congress will address various aspects of research on mammalogy, including conservation and management. The event also provides an opportunity for IUCN/SSC specialist groups to meet. Details will be announced later.
