The Association des Amis des Cryptogames is a French non profit organisation (Law 1901) established in 1975 by Drs Suzanne Jovet-Ast and Hélène Bischler-Causse. The main goal of the association is to promote the diffusion of our knowledge about Algae, Fungi and Bryophytes. This was primarily achieved via the publication by ADAC of the three journals formerly housed at the Paris Laboratoire de Cryptogamie (Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle): Revue bryologique et lichénologique, Revue algologique and Revue de mycologie. The recent federation of these journals under a single title enabled to reduce individual printing costs thus avoiding the cessation of their diffusion. In 1980 appeared the new title Cryptogamie with the three sections Cryptogamie, Bryologie, Cryptogamie, Algologie and Cryptogamie, Mycologie. Presently all sections are housed at the new ‘Département Systématique & Evolution’ following the structural reorganisation of the former Laboratoire(s) of the Paris Natural History Museum.
