Abstract

Three new submacropterous species of Splonia Signoret, 1891 are described and illustrated: Splonia dietrichi (Peru, new record for the genus), Splonia flavoscutellata (Ecuador), and Splonia fritilla (Venezuela). A detailed redescription of the genus is given, including the first account of the female terminalia (based on S. fritilla). A key to males of the now six known Splonia species is provided.
