Abstract

Sansevieria marachiensis, new species, is found in several locations in north-west Uganda not far from Arua city. The new species is distinguished by characters of both the leaves and the inflorescence. Because of the loss of habitat, it is largely restricted to rocky granite outcrops. It is considered threatened in the vulnerable category (VU).
