Abstract

Ochyra, R. & Ireland, R. R. 2016. Isopterygium tenerifolium (Hypnaceae, Bryophyta) — one more Afro-American disjunct. − Herzogia 29: 72−78.

The original material of Brachythecium rhynchostegioides, an undescribed moss species from southern Africa, was investigated. The material actually represents Isopterygium tenerifolium and this is the first record of this neotropical species in Africa. The global distribution of I. tenerifolium is mapped and Afro-American moss disjuncts are briefly discussed.
