Abstract

Yan, Y.; Tsydypova, A., and Zhang, Y., 2020. Evaluation of marine economic efficiency of China's coastal provinces based on DEA model. In: Li, L. and Huang, X. (eds.), Sustainable Development in Coastal Regions: A Perspective of Environment, Economy, and Technology. Journal of Coastal Research, Special Issue No. 112, pp. 315-318. Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.

In order to investigate the marine economic efficiency of China's coastal cities, this paper establishes a marine economic efficiency evaluation index system, and uses the DEA model to conduct an empirical evaluation of the marine economic efficiency of 11 coastal provinces and cities in China in 2016. The results show that Tianjin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Fujian, and Shandong have higher economic efficiencies, Liaoning and Zhejiang have lower economic efficiencies, and Hebei, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, and other provinces are between the two efficiency levels.
