^**Rob Sutter leads Enduring Conservation Outcomes (www.enduringconservation.com), a consulting and training team that has expertise in conservation planning, monitoring and adaptive management, and conservation training. For 19 years, he was the Regional Scientist for the Southern U.S. Region of The Nature Conservancy. In that role he assisted TNC field offices and the Department of Defense, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Forest Service in designing and implementing monitoring protocols, analyzing monitoring data, and enhancing the effectiveness of adaptive management programs, including the project that first sampled the CHCH glades.
^***Thomas E. Govus works as an independent botanist and vegetation ecologist in the Southeast U.S. For over twenty-five years, he has conducted protected plant surveys and botanical inventories for the North Carolina Natural Heritage Program, the Georgia Natural Heritage Program, the Nature Conservancy, the U.S. Forest Service, and the National Park Service. Most recently he has been involved with inventory and monitoring projects on National Park Service lands conducted by NatureServe.
^****Regan Lyons Smyth is a Regional Vegetation Ecologist in NatureServe's Southern Resource Office. Her expertise lies in the areas of conservation planning, landscape ecology, and geospatial analysis. Regan's current work at NatureServe includes the development of long-term vegetation monitoring protocols for the National Park Service (NPS), distribution modeling for rare communities on forest lands, and accuracy assessment of NPS vegetation maps.
^*****Carl Nordman is a Regional Vegetation Ecologist at NatureServe's Durham, North Carolina office. His work for NatureServe has included vegetation ecology fieldwork throughout the Southeast (east of the Mississippi River), and he plays a role in the development of the National Vegetation Classification for the region. He has been involved in a number of projects which use information to create conservation tools and ecosystem management products for land managing agencies, such as the USDA Forest Service, National Park Service, EPA, and The Nature Conservancy.
^******Milo Pyne is the Senior Southeastern Regional Ecologist for NatureServe, and is responsible for the maintenance and implementation of the U.S. National Vegetation Classification and Ecological Systems Classification in the southeastern United States in collaboration with Federal and State agencies and other conservation partners. From 1993 to 1996, he served as the Tennessee Natural Heritage Botanist and worked on numerous inventories and conservation plans for calcareous glades as well as conducted an investigation of the glades and barrens of the Western Valley of the Tennessee River.
^*******Terri Hogan is an ecologist for the National Park Service, currently working at Congaree National Park where she serves as the Southeast Coast Exotic Plant Management Team Liaison. She has worked as an Ecologist and Natural Resource Manager at Stones River National Battlefield and as a botanist for Science Applications International Corporation at Eglin Air Force Base. She was a contract botanist and plant ecologist for many years working for the Tennessee Natural Heritage Program, the National Park Service, and The Nature Conservancy on rare plant conservation issues and plant population and community monitoring.
