Abstract

A new species of the genus Aokiella (Oribatida, Carabodidae) is described from soil of Taiwan. Aokiella liaoi sp. nov. differs from Aokiella xuansoni Vu, Ermilov & Dao, 2010 in that notogastral setae c1 and c2 as well as da and la are similar in length, and the surface of the notogaster has small, sparse foveoles. A revised generic diagnosis, an identification key to known species, and data on the distribution and ecology of Aokiella are presented.
