Abstract

Epieremulus (Oribatida, Anderemaeidae) is recorded in the Peruvian fauna for the first time. A new species—Epieremulus mariacaballeroae sp. nov.—is described, based on materials collected from upper soil and leaf litter in primary mountain forests. Generic diagnosis, an identification key, distribution and habitats of representatives of Epieremulus are presented. A species status has been proposed for Epieremulus granulatus andicola: Epieremulus andicola (P. Balogh, 1988) stat. nov.
