Abstract

In this study, we described and illustrated two new Aceria species (Eriophyidae: Eriophyinae: Aceriini) associated with the Asteraceae host plants in rangelands of Lahrud and Agh Qal'eh villages, in Meshginshahr county, Ardabil province, Iran. They are Aceria anthemis Lotfollahi et Hemmatzadeh sp. nov. on Anthemis arvensis L. and Aceria carthami Lotfollahi et Hemmatzadeh sp. nov. on Carthamus lanatus L. Both new mite species are vagrants causing no apparent damage to their host plants.
