A typographical error in the publication of Opinion 290 (ICZN, 1954) resulted in the generic name Acanthocnema Costa (A.), 1859 being suppressed for the purposes of the Law of Priority twice, instead of the purposes of both the Law of Priority and the Law of Homonymy. In accordance with Article 80.4 of the Code, which states that the Commission can publish an Official Correction of an error or omission in an Opinion without further vote when the correction does not negate the Opinion or its consequences, notice is hereby given that:
