Abstract

The genus Batesiana Chalumeau, 1983 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Aphodiinae: Eupariini) previously contained only the type species, Batesiana tuberculata (Bates, 1887), of which little is known. This paper describes Batesiana chamorroi Skelley and Vaz-de-Mello, new species and presents new natural history and distributional observations on B. tuberculata.

O gênero Batesiana Chalumeau, 1983 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Aphodiinae: Eupariini) anteriormente continha apenas a espécie-tipo, Batesiana tuberculata (Bates, 1887), com pouca informação disponível. O presente trabalho descreve Batesiana chamorroi Skelley e Vaz-de-Mello, nova espécie, e apresenta aobservações sobre história natural.
