Abstract

A new species of spider beetle in the genus Dignomus Wollaston from Thailand is described. This record represents a significant range extension of over 2,000 km to the east for species of this genus. The new species, Dignomus arlai Philips and Smith, new species, is diagnosed, described, illustrated, and its placement in the Dignomus aethiopicus (Ancey) species group is discussed. A map showing the known distribution of species within the genus is also provided.
