Abstract

The mayfly fauna of California consists of 155 species in 44 genera among 15 families. Previous data and new data (from 23 major collections) are given for all species and include first published state data for 53 of the species. In addition, 1,720 new county records involving all 58 California counties are given for 140 of the species. Less than 10 percent of the species appear endemic to California
